About Us

Tom Jones Insurance has been serving the insurance needs of individuals, families and businesses throughout the Central Ohio area since 1966.  Our primary objective is to establish a relationship – a partnership – between you, our office, and the insurance company. 
 
The agency was established when Tom Jones purchased the Shade Link Agency and other small agencies in the surrounding communities.  The agency began with just Tom and one customer service representative, Sue Ervin.  Suzy retired from Tom Jones Insurance after 40+ years in June of 2013.  Don Hite and Bob Weldon purchased the agency from Tom Jones in 1992.  They both had contact with the agency well before they knew insurance would become a large part of their lives.
 
Don Hite joined the agency in 1969 as an agent.  However, Don’s relationship with the agency began three years earlier while he was working at the local bank.  Don was the loan officer who granted the loan to Tom Jones to establish the agency.  Don retired in October 2014.
 
Bob Weldon grew up in Millersport just two houses from the agency.  By the age of nine, Bob was mowing the agency’s lawn.  In 1977, Bob began selling group life and health insurance, and then joined the agency in 1979.
 
The agency continued to grow and in 1998, a long time Millersport community resident, Donna Thogmartin, joined the staff as a customer service representative.  At her side, in 2009, Tammy Gettys became a customer service representative. In January, 2018 Beth Brooks became a customer Service Representative to help provide our continued outstanding customer service.  Tom Jones insurance added another agent in November of 2012. Ashley Hicks, with seven years experience joined our agency as a full time agent.
 
As an independent agency, we sell all lines of insurance, including auto, home, and business, from many different companies.  This gives us the ability to find the best fit for you.  We believe insurance is a personal thing that should cater to each individual's specific needs.  In order to ensure proper coverage for each unique situation, we spend some time getting to know you so that we can determine which products best meet your needs.
